About Us

HARO HISTORY

HARO expanded its operations into the Somali Region of Ethiopia in 2023, marking a significant milestone in its history. Setting up a base in Jigjiga, HARO continues its mission to support disaster-affected communities in the region in adapting to the impacts of climate change. With a dedicated team and strong partnerships with local stakeholders, HARO remains committed to offering sustainable solutions and making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

HARO (Humanitarian African Relief Organization) was established in 2005 and has been supporting vulnerable communities affected by conflict, natural hazard and crises in Somalia. From its inception, HARO has upheld the core humanitarian principles of neutrality and impartiality, providing life-saving assistances. Over the years, HARO has evolved its approach, not only delivered immediate relief but also focusing on empowering communities to build resilience against future disasters through education, livelihood support, and water supply initiatives.
